Sludge

What is Sludge?

Sludge is the thick, semi-solid mixture of solids and liquid removed from sewers, wet wells, catch basins, tanks, and industrial processes; vacuum and combo trucks suction it into the debris body for disposal.

Sludge is settled, mud-like waste made of accumulated solids suspended in liquid. It builds up in wastewater systems, sumps, and storage tanks and must be periodically removed to keep them functioning.

Vacuum trucks and combination trucks handle sludge removal, pulling it into the debris body for transport and offloading at an approved facility. Sludge differs from hydro excavation slurry, which is specifically water mixed with excavated soil. Rent sludge-handling vacuum equipment through a free request on Vac4Rent.
