Slurry

What is Slurry?

Slurry is the fluid mixture of water and excavated soil produced during hydro excavation; the vacuum draws this slurry from the dig site into the truck's debris body for transport and disposal.

Slurry forms when pressurized water breaks up soil into a pumpable, mud-like mixture. Instead of lifting solid spoils, the hydrovac vacuum suctions the slurry through the dig tube into the debris body, keeping the work area cleaner and the excavation precise.

Slurry volume and consistency depend on soil type and water use, and the debris body must be sized to hold it before offloading at an approved site. Frozen or clay-heavy ground can change how much water is needed to keep spoils flowing. Rent hydro excavation equipment matched to your soil conditions through a free Vac4Rent request.
