Debris Body
What is Debris Body?
The debris body is the sealed onboard tank of a vacuum or hydrovac truck that collects the spoils, slurry, sludge, or liquid removed during vacuum excavation or cleaning, holding it until offloading.
The debris body (also called the debris tank or spoils tank) stores everything the vacuum pulls in, measured in cubic yards of capacity. On a hydrovac it holds the water-and-soil slurry produced while digging; on an industrial vacuum or combo truck it holds sludge, liquids, or dry material.
Tank size directly affects how long a crew can work before needing to offload at an approved disposal site, so debris capacity is a key spec when matching equipment to a job. On Vac4Rent, listings describe debris capacity as a typical range; submit a free request to find equipment sized to your project.
