Water Table
What is Water Table?
The water table is the underground level below which the soil is saturated with groundwater; digging below it fills excavations with water and can produce thinner slurry and extra offloading during hydro excavation.
The water table marks the top of the saturated zone where soil pores are full of groundwater. When an excavation reaches or passes it, water seeps into the hole, which affects digging conditions and, in hydro excavation, dilutes the slurry the vacuum removes.
High water tables can increase debris body fill rates and offloading frequency because the truck picks up groundwater along with spoils. Knowing the water table helps size equipment and plan disposal. Vac4Rent connects renters with hydrovac equipment suited to wet-site conditions.
